Enter the house of a 20th generation local lord, enjoy privileged Japanese life. Staying at our renovated 400 years old property will allow you to get a good night’s rest in comfortable tatamis rooms, meditate in our Japanese garden, explore the city with our 2 bicycles, access tailored Nara suggestions you can't find online. This house features soothing nature views with garden birds, upscale furniture, art and "ittobori" wood carver works. All this just 15 minutes by bus from Nara station.

I decided to make my life in Japan 6 years ago and live in Nara with my wife and family. I am an Eden gardener. I try to heal mother Gaea. I am very aware of the upcoming collapse of techno-industrial gasoline fueled civilization and the 6th extinction... but being awake doesn't break my spirit, I remain a happy soul. Here in Niwamori, we try to build the community resilience, one tree at the time, one new organic farmer at the time, sharing best practices. The house is almost surrounded by our food forest while being just 10min by bus from the deer park. Very easy to access from Nara station. There is an open supermarket until 10pm and other good price shops around here. It is also just beside the village shrine ⛩, a very special location indeed. This part of town has been 'feeding' Nara for centuries and there are numerous rice fields starting just a few houses away from us. The sunset seen from the rice field is also wonderful.
