Hello, my name is Sophal and I am the director and founder of OBT. The aim of OBT is to broaden the horizons of the children lining in my community through providing a high quality of education that will enable them to break out of the cycle of property which they have been born into. Opening OBT Homestay is helping us to cover some of the school expenses.

Staying at OBT (Organisation for Basic Training) is an unforgettable experience for travellers who are interested in gaining a meaningful insight into Khmer rural life. OBT is a Cambodian non-governmental organization (NGO) Located in Chiro village, near Kampong Cham, which is dedicated to the education and empowerment of the children living in and around Chiro Village. All the money received from your stay will go towards supporting our local NGO school. Our bungalows include private bathroom (equipped with toiletries and towels), double mattress with linen, mosquito net, fan and hammock. At our restaurant you could enjoy delicious local food.

As part of your stay, we could offer a range of local activities (Fishing on a boat, cooking class, football match, Green Friday, Tuk-tuk tours) that you can get involved. These activities have been selected as they offer an insight into the everyday lives of the villagers. If you are interested in any of these activities, please request it in advance so we can review availability with the villagers before your arrival.
