Expect to be welcomed like friends in our family home with its spacious terrace overlooking a lush garden and the Mekong River. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated. Thanks to the river and the many trees, the house stays cool. We prefer stays of two nights long or more (-40% reduction!). Meals and laundry facilities are available. We are close to the bus station with departures to/from Ubon Ratchathani and Bangkok. Other services: Electric taxi, Boat-taxi, Tuk-tuks, Scooters and Motorcycles, 4-wheel or "Easy-driver" tours (on the back of a scooter), Small cruise on the Mekong and especially Maps and GPS covering the attractions of South Laos, "Food Tour" in Pakse, Guide for the secret places of Pakse and the whole region.
NKM - 3 letters, 3 characters > Khiao (Laotian, 46 years old in 2025) makes handicrafts for Buddhist-animist religious ceremonies. She is also a farmer. Marie (French-Laotian, trilingual, 20 years old in 2025) is studying at university. Nicolas (French, English, Laotian, 52 years old in 2025) has been the unofficial cartographer of the region since 2008. He creates tools for travelers to discover Southern Laos like no one else: maps, GPS devices (to be read with Maps.me), walking routes in his "Secret Pakse," and two-wheeled trips for the city, the plateau, Champasak, and the 4000 Islands (and between these last two destinations); a "Food Tour" for Pakse, and a "treasure hunt" throughout the south.
Our neighborhood in Pakse, Bang Yor, is very authentic and lively Lao. It has many shops and services: a market, a viewpoint, two of Pakse's most striking temples, and three of the city's four Mekong riverside restaurants. There are also scooter and car rentals and a sauna/massage close to our house. It's an extremely safe neighborhood.
