Our story begins in 2021 where the neccesity to continue traveling the world and the social isolation restrinctions provided us the opportunity to open our home to travelers while still respecting the rules set forth to protect global health. Casa Donaji was born as a Symbol of support and fraternity. Our home is named after the Zapotec princess, Donaji, who died with so much love for her community that she became a legend. As a result peace was established between the warring Zapotec and Mixtec people. We use her as inspiration to keep seeking peace, happines and the comfort of home. In Mexico, In Oaxaca, and In Casa Donaji, mi casa es su casa.

We have such an amazing rooftop in the north area of Oaxaca City, feel free to enjoy the sunsets or the sunrises with the most amazing view of the mountains. Coffee? Beer? Mezcal? Every minute is important, and wethear you are a solo traveler, friends or parners, just like our mountains connect to each other, we want to connect with you guys in a family way. Our accommodations are located out of the city center of Oaxaca, what makes it ideal for travelers who want to be out of the normal and experience something different, chill and more local. Every room is equipped with a desk and a strong wifi connection for those who want to continue working while traveling. Theres a kitchen and a garden to make you feel like home. Our neighborhood Volcanes is located 30 min away from the main city center by public transportation, near to communities like San Felipe del Agua and San Andres Huayapam whom are well known because of its beautiful natural views and ideal for walkings. Also we are close to the neighboorhood of Donaji where the National Park Benito Juarez is waiting for you! This is an established suburban neighborhood. There are small stores, cafes and restaurants, but not large shopping centers. Public transport by bus is just a few blocks away. Taxis arrive quickly and run at all hours.
