Kneading Peace Social Enterprise is run by Same Skies (sameskies.org) - a non-profit organisation supporting refugees in Malaysia and Indonesia. Profits go towards supporting local refugee entrepreneurs and our projects. Same Skies exists to shift power, support refugee agency and strengthen community. We want to change the world's perception of refugees through combined action.

Property information

Kneading Peace Social Enterprise is a refugee-supporting bed & breakfast, café with the best ice cream in town, and co-work space. We also exhibit art and sell refugee-made handicraft. We are located in an old Chinese shop house with stairs and no lift. This property is not suitable for people with restricted movement, or plenty of luggage. At 5pm - when our café closes - the folding doors at the front entrance will be locked (you will get a key), and no staff will be on-site until 8.30am the next morning. On our premises, we offer two unique guest rooms for travellers who share our values and want to contribute to a good cause. Our double room has a little terrace; great for a couple or a person travelling alone. Our triple room has three single beds; perfect for a family with a child, or a maximum of three friends. Both rooms have an outdoor shower (connected to the room), and a shared toilet (outside the room). We offer: - Free drinking water - Direct access to the best ice cream in town at our café - Bath towels - Air-conditioning & fans - High-speed Wifi - Co-work space (additional charge)

Neighbourhood information

We are located in the heart of old-town Malacca/ Melaka - the UNESCO World Heritage protected part of town, a two-minute walk from Jonker Street. You can easily walk to all historical sights, stroll along the river, or rent a bicycle from the shop opposite our place. There are countless places to find delicious food and drinks around every corner.
