Our home was completed in March 2025. It has been a dream come true. This is a unique construction of brick and bamboo built in a semi-circle. The house is positioned on two lots, making for a spacious area. Inside the home you can see the high ceilings with the bamboo structure. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms, a living area, kitchen, and outside dining. We are located just .6 mile from Marsella beach, which is an easy walk or drive. It's also just 1.8 mile from Playa Maderas, which is a well known surfing beach in the area.

We are Scot and Trudy, and live in Nicaragua three months of the year. We have traveled extensively throughout Latin America and speak Spanish fluently. Please don't hesitate to contact us should you have any questions about the house, the community, the culture or language. Yirda is the caretaker of the property. She will check you in and make sure you have everything you need. Should you need housekeeping during your stay, Yirda can provide that for you at an extra charge. She lives about 15 minutes away from the property. Franklin is the gardener and maintenance person. He lives directly in front of the home (on the property of the blue house). He may need access to the garden on occasion to water the outdoor plants, depending on the length of your stay.

We live in a quiet gated community called Bosques del Mar (Forest of the Sea). There are howler monkeys that circulate throughout the area. Sometimes they come close to the house, other times you can hear them in the distance. If you have never heard a howler monkey, look it up on Google. It may surprise you the first time you hear their loud roar coming from a small body. There is a beach front area that is private to Bosques del Mar residents and guests. You will take the back entrance to the community and there is a drivable dirt road that leads to the beach. The area includes shaded areas with tables, bbq grills, bathrooms, and a shower. This is .6 mile or 1 km from our house.
