A few years ago we began, together with Marc Koehler Architects (MCA) with the design of the house and an apartment for B&B on top on this unique location. We wanted to build a environment-friendly home and chose for example for wood, solar panels, underfloor heating and wherever possible recycled materials. The result turned out to be great after almost a year building and we are very proud. We hope to share our home with many people from around the world so they can enjoy this house and the impressive views.
I like setting up and beautify our home and the B&B-apartment. It looks every time slightly different. My husband an I like the contact with guests, though we leave the frequency of it to the guests themselves. If required, we provide a lot of information about Amsterdam and its surroundings but if guests wish we obviously leave them alone! We have two daughters aged 9 and 11 years old. We are sporty and keep making music. Singing, playing guitar and piano is favourite.
IJburg is a relatively new and trendy district in Amsterdam with trendy shops, restaurants, a supermarket nearby and beach and naturepark within walking distance. There are many young families and it is a fine place to completely unwind after for example a trip to the city. From the apartment is a 5 minute walk to the tram that leaves every 5 to 10 minutes in about 12 minutes to Amsterdam Central Station (downtown Amsterdam). Also located near the highway and Utrecht, Haarlem and other cities are easily accessible by car.
