Marbles Inn is a traditional Bed & Breakfast. The house is build in the old Amsterdam tradition of the canal houses. It has four levels, high ceilings, and is located next to a canal. The rooms have plenty of daylight due to the large windows, and a spacious private bathroom.
Breakfast is served in the kitchen/dining room, or when the weather is good on the large terrace.
The B&B is located in a quiet neighborhood, and on the same time very close to the city center. It takes only 15 minutes by tram to get to the city center (Central Station), and 20 minutes by bus to the South East district, where large venues like the Amsterdam ArenA and the Ziggo Dome are located.
My name is André, I am the owner of Marbles Inn. Apart from running my B&B I like reading a good book, take my bike for a long ride in or outside the city, or have a nice dinner in one of the many good restaurants in Amsterdam. I also like to visit the many museums, or have a walk in one of the beautiful parks in the city. My biggest passion is however music. I love listening to music and attending concerts, especially of my favorite band Marillion.
Marbles Inn is located in the newest district of Amsterdam, called IJburg. IJburg is a collection of artificial islands, reclaimed from the former South Sea (Zuiderzee), which is nowadays a lake called IJsselmeer. There are many nice restaurants and bars in the direct neighborhood of the B&B, including the famous and popular city beach Blijburg.
For people who are interested in modern architecture IJburg is a very interesting place. There are many locations where people could build their own house without government restrictions, which resulted in unique buildings.
From the harbor (5 minutes from the B&B)you can visit the fortress island Pampus, which is located in the IJsselmeer not far from IJburg.
It takes only a few minutes by bike to get out of the city and have a nice ride on the many bike roads in the nature around Amsterdam. On the other hand the city center is also not far away and pretty easy to reach by bike. The public transport is very good: every 6 minutes the fast tram runs directly from and to Central Station, during the night a bus takes over this service.
