We are the Jeske family. Since 2004 we have been running our family business, a holiday park in Oostmahorn. Oostmahorn is located in the Lauwersmeer National Park. Here you can relax and enjoy nature. It is a beautiful area for cycling, walking, paddle-boarding, or sailing with a boat. We rent holiday homes that are located in the holiday park and holiday homes that are located directly at the Lauwersmeer. There is a small beach at the Lauwersmeer and a playground for the children in the park and for people who like stargazing: This is the darkest area in the Netherlands! It’s wonderful to stay here. That is why we are open all year round and we warmly welcome you. (House rules:) *Sunday check-in not available. *Check-in time: arrival time from 15:00 - 18.00h. *If pets are allowed in the house, we charge EUR 5 per pet per day. Pets must be registered in advance. *It is not allowed to charge electric cars at the rented house. *Bed linen / towels / kitchen towels can be brought along or rented: 1 bed linen package: fitted sheet + duvet cover + pillowcase for 12.50 EUR. 1 set of towels: 2 towels + 1 bath towel + 1 bath mat + 1 tea towel for 5 EUR. *Fishing license (valid in province of Friesland can be bought at the reception) price : 15 EUR per week. *Barbecue is allowed. *Smoking in the house leads to loss of security deposit.

House ‘Olivia’ is located in a small holiday park (De Skâns), next to the old stronghold of Oostmahorn. From the dike you can enjoy spectacular sights over the National Park Lauwersmeer. A beautiful beach is just a couple of hundreds of meters away and the North Sea coast is only a five minute drive. Pets are welcome in ‘Olivia’. (Features:) The living area and the fully equipped kitchen (with a Senseo, microwave and mini oven) of ‘Olivia’ are located on the ground floor and offer direct access to the terrace and garden. With three bedrooms ‘Olivia’ is equipped for six people. Two of the bedrooms (one with a small balcony) are upstairs, the master bedroom is downstairs. (Outdoor area:) There’s a big table on the terrace in the private garden, a barbecue-set is available and parking your car at the property is possible. (Distinctive features:) There is a washing machine and a dryer available. On request, we provide a cot and a high chair. Wifi and tv are available.

Oostmahorn is an old stronghold at the at the western side of the Lauwerslake with a rich history, dating back to the sixteenth century. Nowadays it’s a very pleasant tourist destination at the National Park Lauwersmeer, hosting several holiday resorts. The lake itself and the direct surroundings are a true paradise for nature lovers, fisherman, bird watchers, water sports enthusiasts, cyclists and hikers. Dogs are more than welcome here as well. There’s a special beach and a forest for them at Lauwersoog. Within a couple of hundreds of meters there are several playgrounds for children. At the beach, in the small resort ‘De Skâns’ and in Esonstad - which is a holiday resort build as a replica of a typical old Frysian city. In Esonstad you’ll even find a bouncy castle and an indoor playing hall and one can play golf and foot golf here at the local Pitch & Putt area. Renting a bicycle or e-chopper is also possible here. In Esonstad you can easily do your daily groceries (a bigger supermarkt is just a couple of kilometers away in Anjum) or find a restaurant, pizzeria or a snackbar. Another three restaurants are even closer to your holiday house. Some of them offer spectacular lake views. Other good options to enjoy the local seafood cuisine are the sea harbor of Lauwersoog at the northern side of the lake, the old fishing village of Zoutkamp at the eastside of the lake or at Dokkum, the most northern fortified city of Friesland. To discover the National Park from the waterside you could bring your own boat or surf gear but there are boats and sailing boats for rent as well at ‘Paviljoen La Barca’. A boat-tour, or seal expedition can be booked around the corner and a ferry to the beautiful island of Schiermonnikoog, with it’s many miles of sandy beaches, is leaving from Oostmahorn as well. With the title Dark Sky Park, in Lauwersmeer National Park you can truly experience nature in the dark!
