Stay aboard The Vega 1909, a historic wooden sailing ship permanently moored in Amsterdam’s creative NDSM. Built in 1909, this former cargo schooner offers a simple and authentic maritime experience — an opportunity to sleep on a real historic vessel. Please note: this is not a luxury yacht. The accommodation is comfortable but traditional, with original woodwork and a cozy, nautical atmosphere. The Vega has: Private cabins with individual bunk-style beds A equipped galley kitchen Heating and ventilation Bathroom with shower and hot water Outdoor deck seating All bed linen, towels, and final cleaning are included. Access via ramp and interior stairs. Children and pets are welcome under supervision, as this is a real working ship. Access to cabins requires stairs, and guests board via a small ramp from the quay. For safety reasons, the engine room, cargo hold, and captain’s cabin are restricted. According to maritime regulations, an officer remains onboard 24/7 to assist with maintenance and emergencies. The Vega 1909 is ideal for: Families Friends Small groups Travelers seeking something unique, simple, and memorable Experience a stay full of character on an authentic century-old sailing ship — anchored in one of Amsterdam’s most cultural districts.
I'm a climber and a professional rope access technician. Rigging traditional and antique boats is my passion. I live in Costa Rica and love enjoying its mountains, beaches, and tropical rivers.
Located at NDSM Wharf, the area offers cafés, music venues, street art, and a free ferry to Amsterdam Central Station (about 10–15 minutes).
