The area in and around Buvik is Perfect for wilderness recreation activities such as hiking, kayaking, bird watching, boat trips, chasing the Northern lights etc. Sommarøy, a tiny Coastal community jutting out to sea, is only 12 km away. The archipelago around Sommarøy is blessed with both tiny inlets and long sandy beaches, with white coral sand and clear, turquoise water. It is where the Arctic meets the caribbean.
