This comfortable self contained property is ideal as a base for exploring the famous Coromandel Peninsula with its incredible scenery and beaches. The house is in a quiet rural street within walking distance (10 min) to the beach and secluded safe river swimming holes. There is a BBQ, picnic table & chairs in the garden area behind the house. Well set up for fishing with a covered filleting station and plenty of fresh water for boat washing.

My wife I have had a holiday house here for 17 years and liked it so much we decided to retire here 11 years ago. We are part of a very active Kiwi Protection group operating in the Te Mata area and Kiwi can be heard sometimes along with many other native birds .

In summer the Pohutukawa, (New Zealand's native Christmas tree), coats the hills with a crimson canopy. For Fishers the Waikawau boat ramp is 10 mins away giving access to the extensive Coromandel mussel farms. Tidal boat ramp in the river at the end of the road. There are several fishing charter and boat hire operators available locally. Royal Oak hotel bar and restaurant only 2km away. Tapu Dairy and Tapu Camp shop supply bait and tackle along with day to day requirements. Te Mata has a good sandy swimming beach with shellfish accessible at low tide. At Coromandel Town 25km further up the peninsula you can buy smoked fish, Green lip mussels and oysters. There are also many cafes, restaurants, gift shops and a supermarket.
