Come winter, the very comfortable lounge makes a cosy place to settle in to. Pop the heat pump on to keep the home toasty warm, then take your pick of the great selection of DVDs or board games for a bit of classic family fun. If you bring your boat, there is a ramp just three minutes away, with a protected tidal harbour for fishing, water skiing, kayaking and windsurfing. Or venture out across the bar for excellent fishing and diving. Head to Waihi Beach, just a 10-minute drive up the road, for shops, cafes, restaurants and a supermarket.
