For families we are situated 1km from Margaret Mahy Playground. This is named after New Zealand's famous children's author. Part of the Government's Recovery Plan following the earthquakes of 2010/11, the playpark is the largest playground in the Southern Hemisphere. Its designers won a New Zealand Institute of Landscape Architects Award of Excellence for 2017.
