Fantastic hosts, happy to help with any query and super friendly, clear instructions on where the key was and how to get there. Lovely to stay somewhere rural with horses, a random runaway chicken and a friendly dog. Will definitely return on our...

Saddleview Cottage – Your Farm Getaway Escape to Saddleview Cottage, a modern yet cosy retreat nestled on our beautiful 15-acre equestrian farm, just 5 minutes from Mosgiel, 5 minutes from the A&P Showgrounds, and 15 minutes from Dunedin Airport. Enjoy a peaceful rural setting with lovely garden views and the iconic Saddle Hill as your backdrop. The self-contained cottage is completely separate from the main house, offering privacy and a true sense of space. Perfect for couples, families, or equestrian travellers, Saddleview Cottage provides a welcoming mix of comfort and convenience. Inside, you’ll find a Queen bed, sofa bed, and bunk bed, along with a kitchenette equipped with a fridge, microwave oven, jug, toaster, and all essential utensils. We’ve also provided tea, coffee, and sugar to make you feel right at home. The private bathroom features a shower and comes stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, as well as bed linen and towels for your comfort. Stay connected with wireless internet and unwind with your favourite shows on the TV after a day of exploring or riding. The cottage is non-smoking and fitted with a smoke detector for your safety. Our farm is primarily equestrian-focused, featuring an arena, stables, and a wash bay. We also grow and bale our own hay, which we sell locally. For motorsport enthusiasts, we have a couple of dedicated paddocks for personal use, available by prior arrangement. The property sits on flat land bordering the Silverstream River, with a lovely walking track nearby—perfect for a morning stroll or evening unwind. There’s plenty of off-street parking, ideal for guests travelling with a float or trailer, and pets and horses are welcome.
You’ll also have the chance to meet some of our friendly furry hosts during your stay: Trooper, our delightful Category A miniature horse, doubles as an emotional support horse for both people and other horses. Black Cat, our classic stable cat, keeps the mice at bay and will happily supervise your walks around the farm. Nala, our friendly and talkative dog, loves to say hello before heading off to hunt for bunnies and patrol the property. We’re very relaxed and friendly hosts—a mix of horsey and pet-loving people with a real passion for anything petrol. Whether you’re here for work, leisure, or to attend local equestrian or motorsport events, Saddleview Cottage is your home away from home—a farm escape where comfort meets country charm.
