We were the only guests for two nights as the area got battered by one-in-a-century storm that we were not aware of. When we arrived, the whole town didn't have electricity but that didn't dampen our spirits. The owners provided extra blankets and...

Shakespeare House is the oldest BnB in Te Anau and offers guests a comfortable, clean and friendly atmosphere while you explore the beauty and grandeur of the Fiordland National Park, A world heritage park. My Guests will receive a warm genuine kiwi welcome and will be accommodated in cosy and clean en suite rooms. A delicious breakfast will be ready from 7.00am- 8.30am for you in the morning in time for your excursions to the many natural wonders our region has to offer.
Nathan and Liz are Te Anau locals with a great amount of knowledge and insider tips on the Fiordland area. Nathan is a born and bred Southlander who hasn’t left the area. While Liz is a kiwi who has lived in a few parts of New Zealand but has always called this area home. Nathan has previously worked in sales and management roles before taking the plunge and purchasing Shakespeare house B&B with Liz in September 2017. Nathan and Liz love being able to share this beautiful part of New Zealand with people from around the world, and love having the opportunity to enhance people’s holiday experiences. They view it as a privilege to share their local knowledge with people and enjoy finding out what people want to get out of their holiday and giving them some ideas to get them on a path to goodness, so they have the best experience of New Zealand that they can. It could be doing something not so touristy or off the beaten track, or it could be getting a discount on an adrenaline junkies dream, whatever it may be, Nathan and Liz are here to help their visitors have an enjoyable stay at Shakespeare House B&B
Te Anau is a natural beauty that is still untouched and not overcrowded. There is very little crime and has a great small town community. Te Anau is the gateway to Fiordland and is a great base for all walking, cruising, boating, cycling, flying, golfing, fishing and hunting. If that is not your scene then a quiet spot along the lakefront which is only a minutes walk from Shakespeare House is a must do.
