Nestled at the end of a no-exit road up a private driveway is Shargmor Lodge. Proceed up the tree-lined drive to the top of the hill veering right to the old stable. The apartment is private and self-contained, built in an old stable block with private outside space including the citrus orchard. Sit under the pagoda and enjoy breakfast of a morning or a cold beverage in the evening. Also available on request is a cooked breakfast or dinner. Shargmor Stable is a part of a working farm. Tractors, machinery, and farm animals are a part of the daily experience. Centrally situated in the heart of the Waikato twelve minutes to Matamata and fifteen minutes to Hobbiton. One hour to Hamilton, Rotorua or Tauranga. Two hours to Auckland, Taupo and Whakatane. An ideal place to base yourselves and to travel to some of New Zealand's most unique and beautiful spots. Three different hot pools within thirty minutes drive, with great bushwalks, kayaking and bike trails. There are golf courses a plenty. In the village of Matamata there are numerous cafes and restaurants, also located in Cambridge thirty minutes away.

I'm living in the Lodge with Hoover the cat. I've been a dairy farmer, bookshop owner, a truck and trailer driver, and in construction. But for the last 30 years have been a restaurant owner/cook. I have good general knowledge of New Zealand and am willing to share this with you.
