What a view! Off the beaten path, but not off the grid! This newly completed modern cabin, with its hint of rustic decor, stunning mountain views, and spa makes for a perfect ski cabin. It is truly a magnificent setting and a unique experience. The outside shower is awesome, even in winter with its great pressure and incredible views. Robes are provided for the hot tub to keep you warm in between showering and entering the cabin Located on the homestead of The Lookout Lodge, the cabin often doubles as a wedding suite! The cabin boasts serenity, nestled above the native Kanuka, as well as tranquility and luxury as you soak under the brilliant sky. This unique accommodation offers travelers a rural experience as well with farm animals, all without being too far from town. If you are keen skiers, you can bypass town via River Bank Road to get to Cardrona quickly. Albert Town is a short drive down the road and has great coffee and pastries as well as a shop. The cabin is 12 k's to Wanaka.
Nancy and Greg, over the past twenty years, have built and created The Lookout Lodge, a premier wedding venue and private retreat venue in Wanaka. The Kanuka cabin is part of this developed exclusive property, that overlooks stunning views of Mount Maude, Mount Gold, and Mount Burke, as well as a lush valley floor. The property also is bordered by farmland and also hosts its own array of farm pets. Nancy and Greg are avid skiers, mountain bikers and enjoy sharing their knowledge of the local area.
Maungawera Valley is the home to the premier Mount Burke Station, Fork Farm, Lookout Lodge, and Mount Maude Wine Vineyards. The valley is an iconic New Zealand setting of Otago rural farming with the Southern Alps backdrop. Only 12'ks from the center of Wanaka, it is a short trip to town for what feels like such a private remote setting. Also, just 7 km down the road in Albert Town, is the renowned Pembroke patisserie, famous for pastries and coffee. The location is easy to access for Cardrona and a gateway to multiple bike and walking tracks.
