Michel and I have lived, studied, worked and traveled on five continents. We speak English, French and Spanish and have family on two continents. In addition to travel, we like to hike, swim, practice yoga, play bridge and listen to opera. Retired in Panama since 2014, we enjoy interacting with people from all over the world. Cerro Picacho towers majestically over Altos del Maria. The 360 degree views from the top are well worth the climb! The Maria River cuts its way between this 7,000 hectare private residential development, boasting a 6km round trip concrete trail, with waterfalls and swimming holes at each end and along the way. You can cross the Continental Divide by following the Biodiversity Trail at Valle Bonito. Be sure to take the breathtaking paved back road through the mountains to El Valle de Anton on a day trip where you can visit the local market for organic produce and artisan souvenirs and choose from a host of restaurants for every budget. Upon request we can set up horseback riding through remote trails only known to locals. You can also explore one of the native villages where the local folks reside. These are not found in any guidebook! These suggestions are only a start! Beware! Some guests never leave the property on a first visit because a haven of tranquility overwhelms them!
