We didn't want to create “houses for tourists”, but to open the door to our own home, so to speak, every time... Each place has been carefully imagined. We've tried to anticipate every detail to make you feel at home. In Portuguese, “onda” means “wave”, but “estar na onda” (literally “to be in the wave”) means “to be cool, to feel good”... And that was our aim: to create the ideal setting for your vacation, a cosy, comfortable, refined nest, where everything has been thought of for your well-being. Portugal's Silver Coast runs along the Atlantic coast for 280 km, stretching roughly from the town of Espinho, 30 km south of Porto, to the town of Peniche, some 100 km north of Lisbon. From our Casas na onda in Nazaré and São Martinho do Porto, you can travel the length and breadth of the Silver Coast and discover many of Portugal's major tourist attractions. If you're a history buff, the region's rich cultural heritage will delight you, from the monastery of Batalha and Alcobaca to the walled city of Obidos and the Convent of Christ in Tomar, not forgetting one of Europe's oldest universities in Coimbra and its famous library. If you prefer beaches or water sports, the immense sandy Praia da Nazaré beach, with lifeguard surveillance in all seasons, is just a few steps from our Casas na onda Liberdade, Elevador and Subvila. This long beach stretches below the cliffs, inviting you to relax, swim, do water sports or go out to sea to admire the dolphins. Further north, behind the Nazaré lighthouse, lies the famous Praia do Norte (where you can admire the giant waves from October to February, and which is also a world-famous surfing spot). Just 15 minutes from Nazaré, our Casa na Onda Sonho da Baia overlooks the bay and the quiet, family-friendly beach of São Martinho do Porto. Its protected bay, forming a perfect oval of shells, and its sheltered location make it one of the safest beaches on the coast for swimming and water sports. A whole wild and secret coastline awaits you: Praia da Gralha, Praia do Salgado, and other hidden treasures, where you can hike, paraglide, quad bike, mountain bike, or just swim.
