Walk to Funchal market for the best local produce and enjoy cooking at home. We also love going for a drink and live music at barreirinha bar cafe. No car needed as you can walk to most places. If you do want to rent a car, you can park it nearby on the street free of charge. The best thing is the amazing location. You are right in the historic, unspoilt old town of Funchal, you can walk to the quaint seaside restaurants, three beaches, to the funchal marina for boat charters and dolphin watching tours. The Funchal market is also 10 minutes walk away as are the great bars and main attractions of the city. Not touristy but friendly with lots of local charm. We love the barreirinha café and the tapas place just 2min walk away.
