This Art Deco hostel is within a renovated palace and overlooks São Pedro de Alcântara and Tagus River. Set on the border of Lisbon's trendy Bairro Alto district, it provides free WiFi and a restaurant with a secluded beer garden. The Independente provides modern dormitory rooms and private suites with classical Portuguese architecture and a distinct décor and feel. All rooms have seating areas and high ceilings. Some offer balconies with river views. Guests have access to communal kitchen facilities and to a shared lounge area. Modern Portuguese cuisine can be enjoyed in the Art Deco setting of the Decadente Restaurante & Bar. All meals and cocktails are prepared with locally sourced produce. Elevador da Gloria Tram Stop is situated right opposite Independente Príncipe Real. Pink Street, a renowned nightlife hotspot near Cais do Sodré, is 900 metres away. The Portela Airport is 8 km away, while the Caparica beaches can be found 20 km from the hostel. Lisbon International Airport is at a 25-minute drive from the property.
