Gospodaria Suseni is a newly established company bringing to the holiday makers a unique experience with insights to the countryside life style and décor of a normal small hold in Maramures of 20th century. The goal of the enterprise is to bring back to life the beauty of a lost architecture and accommodate our most recent comfort requirements within the existing traditional buildings. This development is head spearing a series of new projects to be started in the near future, to identify and save similar sites across Maramures and Nationally.

The property is an original, perfectly conservated 20th century countryside residence, built by a wealthy local family and kept within the same line of ownership for almost 100 years. The experience is complemented by all facilities required for our current lifestyle, challenging the dogma that old traditional houses cannot be brought back to life in a sustainable and sensible way. The refurbishment of the smallholding has been carried out entirely using procedures and materials that had been available for the construction of the house, and all the original features have been conserved and refurbished to a very high standard. All the windows and doors are the original woodwork of the property, which provide an authentic feel of country life design and architecture. Most impressive is the bespoke design of the house, for this specific location. The basement and the orientation of the house are perfectly aligned with the geographical location and the Sun presence throughout the entire year. The accuracy and the quality of the this home, are a true testimony of the construction skills our ancestors developed within an archaic environment without much official specialised schooling. According to the elders of the village, all the original woodwork materials have been sourced from a nearby oak woodland approximately 100 years ago, by means of an ancient knowledge of tree felling for durable house construction. Quality assurance passed! We managed to preserve 98% of all original fabric and décor elements i.e. all wood work, mud rendering, benches, tables, chairs, decorations. Due to the materials used, the feel of the property is cleanness, cosiness, plenty of natural light, appropriate temperatures in winter and summer without much energy consumption. This environment is highly recommended to those affected by dermatitis affections, as the allergen level of the property is very low.
