Hi, I’m Susanne the founder and owner of Kvibergs Hostel. My family and I have been running the hostel since 1995, after transforming the military quarters into a place where travelers can feel comfortable. What I enjoy most about hosting is creating a space that feels thoughtful, relaxed, and genuinely welcoming. I take pride in keeping the space clean and functional to the atmosphere we create so guests can settle in easily and enjoy their time in Gothenburg. Outside of the hostel I enjoy visiting the ilands outside Gothenburg, spending time with my granchildren and having a "fika" with friends. Kvibergs Hostel and cottages is a unique family-run hostel with roots going back to 1995. When the military left Kviberg in 1994, Susanne and her family transformed the former service quarters into a warm and welcoming stay for travellers. Set in a peaceful, green area just minutes from Gothenburg. Each cottage features modern and warm décor, comfy beds, a practical kitchen, a private terrace giving you a private retreat with everything you need to relax. Step outside to enjoy quiet mornings, fresh air, and easy access to walking paths and nature. Guests also have access to the hostel’s shared facilities, table tennis, board games and small shop making your stay convenient and fuss-free. About the Neighborhood Kvibergs Hostel is located in a unique and vibrant area with plenty to see and do. The neighborhood is centered around Kviberg Park, home to a large sports arena offering a wide range of activities — from full-size football fields and indoor skiing to ice hockey, ice skating, climbing, table tennis, beach volleyball, and padel tennis. There’s also a spacious playground, making it perfect for families and active travelers alike. The area itself has a rich history. Originally a military site, many of the red brick buildings date back to 1895 and have a striking, almost castle-like appearance. Wandering through the neighborhood, you can admire the historic architecture while enjoying the park’s green spaces. Kviberg offers a balance of activity and tranquility: you’re close enough to Gothenburg’s city center to explore its restaurants, cafés, museums, and landmarks, yet the area retains a relaxed, local feel.
