In Växjö nearby you can do shopping. There are good cycling trails by the house. The hiking trail Banvallsleden passes by Torne, it leads to Hulevik and further to Åshult and Karlshamn. Sirkön is also worth a trip, there you can expect a fish smokehouse and many varieties of apples. In Kurrebot is celebrated Midsummer, you can dance in the Kärrasand. Urshult has a good lunch restaurant, Ladan. In Tingsryd we recommend the Mårdslycke Krog. The area around lake Åsnen is planned as a national park.
