We are Arie and Ellen from the Netherlands. In December 2017 we moved to the beautiful country Sweden. We like it here very much and enjoy the beautiful nature, the quietness and also the winter. You experience the seasons in all its glory. Every season has its own charm. In the summer you can make al long walk in the forest, take a tour with the boat, take a swim in one of the many lakes or go fishing. The forest is filled with berries, you can just eat them or make a stock of jam or juices out of it. Also in the autumn the forest is providing you, this time with a lot of eatable mushrooms. The most famous is the chanterelle and the king bolete. And the winter is also lots of fun! You can go ice skating, skiing, cross-country skiing and you have to do some snow ploughing! But that is fun too! The short but cosy winterdays are beautiful, this time of the year it is the land of the lights, almost all the houses have nice Christmas decoration and behind almost every window you can find a light. Just a little winter wonderland. And it is a miracle to see how the nature restores itself after months of cold and snow.

Here are some examples: biking, hiking, canoeing, elk safari’s, picking mushrooms, take a tour on a raft, enjoy our water fun activities (water-skiing, knee boarding, ride on a banana), go on fishing trips, visit the husky dogs, take a tour with a army truck through the woods, or go out on a boat tour on one of the numerous beautiful lakes.

Surroundings: Sunnemo is a small village, where you can find a grocery store and petrol pump. The closest bigger villages are Munkfors and Hagfors (both +/- 15 min) Hagfors is the biggest nearby place where you can find all things you need. Hagfors airport is only 20 min. away from the Bed & Breakfast. The big city Karlstad is 60 kilometres from The Green House. Ideal for a nice day trip. Sunne is 40 kilometers from The Green House, and is perfect for a nice day trip. It has a water park and a ski slope
