My family came to Somone 25 years ago from Europe in the winter for a sunny beach vacation. We fell in love with the tranquility, the kindness (teranga), the excellent fish, the beautiful sunsets, musicians and local crafts. We enjoyed boating, swimming, reading, painting, writing, and hosting friends, and aim to offer these same experiences to our guests. Serviced Villa Residence Somone is a Moorish-style home blending African art with modern amenities, just a five-minute walk from a sandy beach with calm waters. The villa offers spacious rooms with artisan-crafted furniture, a pool, patios, a serene garden two rooftop terraces, fast Wi-Fi, a barbecue, and multiple air conditioners. Two dedicated staff members are available for cleaning and laundry. Cooking services are optional, and a driver can be arranged upon request. Our residence spans three floors and 500 square meters, accommodating up to 16 guests. The ground floor includes a spacious salon, reading nook, two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen opening to a courtyard with a barbecue area. The first floor has two bedrooms with private bathrooms and a large 67 m² suite with its own living area. The top floor offers two more bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. Amenities include ergonomic mattresses, mosquito nets, air conditioning, ceiling fans, a swimming pool, multiple terraces, and a panoramic rooftop terrace with views of the Atlantic coast and lagoon. Around the corner, there is a small grocery shop and a bakery with fresh baguettes nearby. Within walking distance along the beach, you’ll find some nice bars and restaurants where you can enjoy a sundowner after a swim in the tranquil waters of the bay. The Phoenix Hotel/Restaurant serves brunch, and Africa Six Plage, a 20-minute stroll along the beach, features excellent dancing and orchestra performances twice a week, on Wednesdays and Saturdays. They also offer a fantastic Sunday lunch buffet at the Africa Queen. At sunset, don’t miss the chance to watch the pelicans from the lagoon of Somone as they head out on their nightly fishing trips. The center of Somone, with its colorful market, is 1.5 km away and can be easily reached by shared taxis for about 100 XOF (20 cents). The center also has boutiques, a pharmacy, a coffee shop, and a supermarket. Just opposite the house, on the main street and within a 3-minute walk, there is a clinic open 24/7 for minor issues. Catering services are also available. The Centre Culturel El Hadj Leboon, with its library, restaurant, and weekend musical performances, including djembe workshops, is just a 5-minute walk away. The villa is nestled in a very quiet area, hidden by a large jacaranda tree on a dead-end street, but it is easy to find.
