Our beach bungalows are ideal for nature-lovers, couples and families on a budget wanting to escape the crowds of busy Khao Lak. We have 15 bungalows and beach huts nestled in tropical jungle. They directly overlook mature rainforest. All have easy access to a private beach, with large trees providing shade when you really need it. The resort is located on a sheltered cove at the mouth of the unspoiled Klong Lamru Duan River. Poseidon Bungalows’ unique location makes it one of the most stunning nature retreats in Thailand. It’s seclusion makes it ideal for long, solitary walks along the beach. So this is a perfect place to get away from it all and spend time in nature. It's not the place to go if you're wanting to have shopping and noisy night life close by.... It is however the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy great food and views away from the hustle and bustle of town. We have deliberately kept things simple, affordable and nature-friendly. The stone bungalows are spacious and comfortable. The smaller wooden beach huts are cute and comfortable. All rooms have balconies with spectacular tree top views of the jungle and/or ocean beyond.
My name is Olov and I am from Sweden but have lived in Thailand for 30 years now. I have been running Poseidon together with Tukkata from Thailand. When we first arrived here, Khao Lak was a small fishing village and tourism was non-existent. We opened the first beach bungalows on the Andaman Coast and pioneered the very first snorkeling tours to the Similan Islands. We have designed and built all the bungalows and I also designed and built the boat we use for our three day Surin Liveaboard Tours. This is very much a small family type business with mostly local staff from the villages around. And we source as much as we can from the local businesses. And after all this time we definitely KNOW the area! We gladly give free advice to all our guests, including where to go, where not to go, easy to follow directions plus tips on which tour companies offer the best value for money and service.
Our restaurant overlooks the sea and a picturesque river mouth. All the bungalows are beach front and none are more than 30 meters from the beach!! Some are with air con and some are fan only. We have a swimming pool overlooking the sea for those that prefer to relax with a drink in hand by the pool or cool off with the kids when the waves are a little to much fun! We are close to the Khao Lak-Lamru National Park and the port of Thap lamu where most day trips to the islands depart from. The town of Khao Lak is just 5km or so away. The small town of Lam Kean is even closer, with hardly any tourism - it's a great place to experience authentic Thai life, from its small market and many street food vendors. Ton Pling waterfall is just 1.6km away, a great spot for a refreshing dip when the tide on the beach is too high or the waves too big for children to swim in. As an added bonus, there's no park entry fee so it's absolutely free! We have scooters for rent. Alternatively we can help arrange a hire car or organise taxis for you.
