If you like the Ahwahnee hotel in Yosemite, you'll love our little Ahwahnee-be cabin. Decorated with mission oak furniture and Indian themed fabrics and Pendletons, this 1953 vintage cabin is on a large half acre lot, and just a 10 minute walk into town. Walk to county and state parks, hiking trails, bouldering and skate park. A beautiful real river rock fireplace is at the heart of this unique cabin. Downstairs is a game room/theater and large screen TV with surround sound, DVD, and PS2 game console. We have lots of Xbox 360 games, so bring your own Xbox. Super Fast Gigabit Fiber WiFi. Some reviewers have mentioned the word "loft" for the upstairs bedroom. To be clear, it is a large finished attic room with it's own door to the stairs. The ceiling, however, is 6 feet high, so us tall ones have to stoop a little! We are on a corner lot at a 3-way stop two blocks from town. Like any property that close to town, we have occasional cars pass by our cabin. Evenings and nights are mostly dead quiet. This is a cabin, there is a fireplace, and it is used. There may be a faint smell of smoke when you arrive. We do our best to clean the fireplace every time, but it is not perfect. Please note, we now follow the CDC guidelines for disinfection of all surfaces.

John grew up going to Idyllwild as a child. His parents enrolled him and his siblings at ISOMATA (Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts—now Idyllwild Arts Academy), where they learned photography, ceramics, and dance. John brought Lara to Idyllwild for the first time last year, and on her third visit, she owned this cabin. Lara's dad, a retired horticulturist, also finds solitude among the trees. They spend their free time (when not working on the cabin ;-) hiking and climbing the beautiful local mountains.

We are basically a two block walk into town. You will pass the Idyllwild Fire Dept, and the US Forest Service on the way (a very safe place to stay!)
