The Captains Quarters was built in 1880 by local waterman, Captain John H. Osman. The Captain built 4 identical houses for the Captains of his fleet to enjoy. The Captains Quarters is registered with the Maryland National Historical Trust. This unique and cozy home takes you back in time, all while enjoying all of the modern amenities. Our guests can expect to enjoy coffee on the patio overlooking the Corsica River, games and a bar in the brick floor basement and tons of relaxation!
We do not live onsite, but are available at any time via phone or text. If ever needed, we can come to the house for assistance as well.
Downtown Centreville is within walking distance and has a cute ice cream shop, gift shops and restaurants and a weekly farmers market. Also in town is the local brewery and several kids playgrounds. We recommend the Wharf playground as well as Millstream. The Heritage Walking Trail of Centreville is also within walking distance and takes you to visit all of the local historic attractions. The driveway can acommodate 2 standard size vehicles and should be used if possible. Larger vehicles can be parked on the side of the road near the Historical sign and the scenic walkway. Bring your kayaks, SUP's and other small water vessels to explor the beautiful Corsica River. Small boats can be launched directly across from the Captains Quarters. Also, please inquire if you are interested in arriving by boat and docking overnight.
