Refuel the family with a hearty home-cooked meal. The kitchen is fully equipped with large granite counters and stainless steel appliances to ensure that cooking can be done with ease. Let the kids munch on appetizers at the breakfast bar before enjoying a meal around the 8-person dining table. End the night on a sweet note with a cup of hot cocoa on the deck, where you're sure to have an unbeatable view of the sunset each evening. When the cocoa runs out, send the kids inside for a game of pool or foosball in the game room, while the adults head over to the hot tub for a relaxing evening in the mountains. Retreat inside for peaceful slumbers in one of the 5 bedrooms. Take a spot on the king bed in the bedroom suite, or in the second and third bedroom, each with a queen bed. The kids can fall fast asleep on the twin-over-twin bunk beds in the fourth or fifth bedrooms. Take a drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway for a day admiring the incredible landscape that North Carolina is famous for! When you're ready to take a pitstop, drive back toward home to explore the scenic Cascades Trail - just off the parkway. Head over to Sugar Mountain Resort for time spent with the kids on the bunny slopes and to Beech Mountain Resort for a day of trickier terrain and steep slopes. Stay local for the day with a quick trip to West Jefferson, less than 15 minutes away. This charming mountain town has been frozen in time and is filled with unique history, local art galleries, and dozens of charming shops and restaurants to explore. Venture away for the day and drive 12 miles to Boone, a charming community known for its bluegrass music, beautiful Blue Mountain scenery, and Appalachian storytellers. Boone is also home to Appalachian State University, where you can catch a football game and take a tour of the beautiful campus nestled in the mountains.
