Our first priority is to our neighbors and ensuring this peaceful lake sanctuary remains that way. We have a couple requests, with which we would appreciate your understanding: 1. No outside loud music. Because our home is directly on the lake, it is shocking how sound bounces off the water. If someone is blasting music outside, you would be able to hear it clear on the other side of the 55-acre lake. The entire community is very respectful to each other (and Jefferson County sound ordinance). For context playing music off a phone or handheld speaker would be fine. Setting up a DJ booth or sound system and blasting it would be an issue. You can be as loud as you want inside, we just need to not disturb the community outside. There is a county sound ordinance that runs from 10PM to 6AM and is strictly enforced. Even when the Mountain Lake Club hosts very large summertime events such as live bands, outside music is turned off at 10PM. 2. Smoking: Smoking is not allowed at any time inside the property. If you choose to smoke outside the property, please pick up your cigarette butts. 3. There are two Ring systems at the home, one at the main entrance, and the second at the Gallery entrance. These systems only cover the exterior entrances to the home, there are no internal cameras. 4. There is also a Minut party alarm system that will inform us if a crazy party is brewing (you can read about this system if not familiar, it only monitors decibel sound, not recording of voice or video. These are also all outside the home. We don’t care how loud people are inside the home, as long as it doesn’t disturb the community outside.

Lake Shannondale is a quiet lake community. Walk around the lake for a hilly 2.2 miles. Lots of wildlife, and 1600 acres of state land across the street. Less than a mile to the Appalachian Trail. The neighborhood focus is the beautiful private Lake Shannondale. The house sits directly on the lake, with amazing views from most areas of the house. Spa services can be arranged directly at your Luxury retreat. Massages, pedicures, and manicures await you to ensure you are pampered properly. Note: We do not add any markup to spa services or other concierge benefits, you pay the actual costs. Tips to your professionals are appreciated but not required. Test your luck at the Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, only 18 minutes from your rental. This location offers a casino, a number of eateries, and a horse racing track. During warm weather months the River Riders Family Adventure Resort, also 20 minutes away, offers treetop obstacle courses, zip lining and tubing or rafting on the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.
