We are based out of Beulah, Michigan, in the northwestern corner of the Lower Peninsula on the beautiful shores of Crystal Lake! We pursue our work from a Christian basis and perspective. NEIGHBORHOOD: The house is on a remote hilltop just south of the central portion of Crystal Lake. There are several homes on the hill, which is property that has been owned by the same family for more than 100 years! The area is quite secluded and is normally quite calm, peaceful, quiet, and relaxing. Crystal Lake is one of the most scenic and popular inland lakes in Michigan. The water is very clear and rather cool and the lake is very popular for boating, sailing, fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and swimming. Public boat access (at South Shore Drive and Lobb Road) is just a 5-minute drive from the cottage and public swimming access (at Bellows Beach) is only a 10-minute drive from the cottage. Outside of the immediate neighborhood, the home is just a few miles from downtown Frankfort, which has a charming collection of shops, restaurants, cafes, and a microbrewery (Stormcloud). Frankfort also has a fantastic public beach on Lake Michigan and a popular historic lighthouse on Lake Michigan. The cottage is also less than a 30-minute drive from both the start of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (to the north) as well as Crystal Mountain Ski Resort (to the southeast). The cottage is also only about a 1-hour drive west from downtown Traverse City. Traverse City is the business, arts, recreation, entertainment, dining, and shopping hub of all of Northern Michigan and it provides a vast variety of "bigger city" things to see and do.
