Swiss Hills Cottage sits nestled in a former cow pasture on our 250 acre farm. Enjoy the unmatched tranquility of beautiful sunsets, rolling Kentucky hills, and peaceful pastures. The interior is a modern-farmhouse-lover’s dream. Built in the spring of 2022 by the Colson Family’s own hands, no detail has been overlooked. The handmade live edge table, kitchen, and bathroom shelves are all made from a single Elm tree. Conveniently located just 10 min. off I-75 and 18 min. from the Ark Encounter. Children are welcome; however, please be aware the stairs to the loft are very steep. This crisp, clean, modern-farmhouse cottage features shiplap walls and a 16' cathedral ceiling that makes the house feel larger than its 384 sq ft main floor plus 120 sq ft loft. The house is strategically located so you can enjoy the best sunset view on the farm! Main floor bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a memory foam mattress and cozy bedding. There is also a couch in the main floor living area that folds down into a bed (futon). The loft has another couch that folds down into a bed (futon). *We have provided 2 twin-size 2" memory foam mattress toppers if you'd like to add them to the futons

Shelley and her husband Matt have dreamed for years of owning their own rental property. It’s amazing to see it finally come to life here on our beautiful farm in Northern Kentucky. Our house name, Swiss Hills Cottage, honors the heritage of this land, home to Brown Swiss dairy cows since 1994. Matt’s parents still have a raw milk dairy operation on the farm to this day. In the fall, we also host the popular Country Pumpkins Fall Festival complete with u-pick pumpkins, hayrides, corn maze, petting zoo, and more.

Welcome to our farm! We are home to two family-owned businesses - Alpine Hills Swiss Farm and Country Pumpkins Fall Festival. Alpine Hills Swiss Farm has been in operation since 1947. Milk was sold commercially for many years, but is currently a small herd-share operation milking 8-12 cows daily and selling milk directly to herd share members. Country Pumpkins is our annual fall festival that begins with sunflowers in late August and extends through the end of October with pumpkins, hayrides, corn mazes, and all the good, clean family fun you can imagine! Located just 18 minutes away is the popular Ark Encounter. We are conveniently located between the Ark Encounter and its sister attraction, the Creation Museum (40 minutes away). Yes, this is the country. You'll travel back a mile gravel lane to reach the tiny house nestled in a former cow pasture on our 250 acre dairy and beef farm. Parking is a gravel pad with turn-around near the house.
