Waikiki is a very well-known and loved tourist destination. The majority of the hotels are there, and it is filled with various places to shop, eat, surf, swim, and other fun things to do. The condo is in a quieter neighborhood in which you will have a lovely ocean and canal view. Everything is within walking distance.
The studio is located in beautiful Waikiki and within walking distance to the Waikiki strip, International Marketplace, Waikiki Beach, other beaches in Waikiki, Waikiki post office, Kapiolani Park, the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, Ala Wai Golf Course, Ala Wai canal, Ala Moana Shopping Center (largest mall), Ala Moana Beach, Magic Island Park, the marina, the Hawaii Convention Center, Kaka’ako, Ward Village, Lucky Strike Social, Consolidated Ward Theatres w/Titan Deluxe, and Dave & Buster’s.
The Hawaiian Monarch building has several places to eat at: Cream Pot, which is a wonderful breakfast and brunch restaurant, Ali’i Bar & Grill, and Maleko Coffee and Pastries. There is a convenience store also in the building called Golden Pond Sundries, and 7-11 is right next door, which is open 24 hours a day. It is across the street from Waikiki Brewing Company and the Ohana Hale Marketplace Food Truck Lot.
There are also many restaurants and retail stores within walking distance, including across the street, on the Waikiki Strip, in the International Marketplace, and in the Ala Moana Shopping Center, which is the largest mall in Oahu.
You can buy groceries at Foodland, which is located in the Ala Moana Shopping Center. If you're into a more healthy and organic selection, there is a Whole Foods Market in the Kaka'ako / Ward Village area not too far from the condo and a little further than the mall. You can also buy some groceries at Island Country Markets in Waikiki. There are 2 that are not far from the building.
