With beautiful year-round weather, a stunning coastline, the largest wooden pier on the west coast, and a quaint New England-style harbor and world-class surf, Oceanside is resplendent with things to do. Check out downtown’s street murals, explore Guajome Park’s trails, book a whale watching excursion, test out your skills at a skate park, and don’t forget to build time into the schedule for Legoland. For fresh produce, the Oceanside Morning Farmers Market is held year-round every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Corner of Pier View Way and North Coast Highway. On Thursday evenings from 5-9 p.m., the Oceanside Sunset Market is San Diego County's top weekly food and music street fair. Spend a day at the beach basking in the sun and take a surfing lesson. You’ll definitely want to walk Oceanside Pier, one of the most visited locations in the city, where you may even eye a dolphin or two playing the in water. To experience some of the town’s cultural offerings, follow the San Luis Rey Bike Trail to the Mission San Luis Rey, or stroll the galleries at the Oceanside Museum of Art. For famous local lore stop by the California Surf Museum home to Bethany Hamilton’s shark bitten surfboard as depicted in the movie Soul Surfer.
