Location very good. The main issue, apart from the plates which had unfortunate rough surfaces was the menu.We noticed that one had an option. Why,if breakfast was included,we couldn't have all that was displayed, rather than be told ' you can't...

Cape Diem Lodge is a place where history and heart meet. Built in 1888 as the second home on the original Green Point Farm, the property has lived many lives - from being home to the Cape Town Harbour Master to serving as the Danish Embassy. Today, her story continues with a new chapter of care, elegance, and contemporary Cape Town spirit. Every corner reflects her heritage: high ceilings, original Oregon pine floors, and classic Victorian details carefully preserved and paired with modern design. Guests are welcomed with small gestures that include a savoury snack of local cheese and crackers, a glass of Rooibos Gin or Rooibos cordial on arrival, and complimentary tea served daily between 16:00 and 18:00. At Cape Diem Lodge, we believe luxury is personal. It’s in the warmth of genuine hospitality, the attention to detail, and the feeling of truly being at home - in one of Cape Town’s most historic and beautiful settings.
I’ve been in hospitality for as long as I can remember. After finishing school, I began my journey with the renowned InterContinental Group in Germany, before joining the Marriott Group in Sales & Marketing while studying International Hotel & Tourism Management. My career later took me across the world - from the USA and New Orleans to Germany and the Netherlands, where I had the privilege of working with brands such as Hilton Hotels, The Leading Hotels of the World, Sofitel, and Radisson Blu. But it was Cape Town that truly captured my heart. After years in large international hotels, I longed to return to the roots of genuine hospitality - The kind that feels personal, heartfelt, and real. That dream became Cape Diem Lodge: a small, elegant boutique property where I can personally connect with guests and create a place that feels like a home away from home.
Guests love that Cape Diem Lodge is perfectly positioned in Green Point, one of Cape Town’s most vibrant and walkable neighbourhoods. From here, it’s an easy stroll to the V&A Waterfront, De Waterkant’s charming cobblestone streets, the Sea Point Promenade, and the colourful houses of Bo-Kaap. The area is filled with trendy cafés, wine bars, and restaurants - personal favourites include Kloof Street House, Carne SA, and The Waterside at the Waterfront. For a more relaxed afternoon, guests often enjoy cocktails at The Grand Beach Café, right on the sand with sweeping ocean views. Green Point offers the best of both worlds - it’s peaceful, yet moments from the energy of the city, the ocean, and the mountain.
