The converted shipping container cottage is called Casetta del Fuoco which means Fire Cottage in Italian. This is because it was our home (my husband, Sergio and our two little boys) for almost 2 years after we lost our house in a devastating fire in 2017. After we rebuilt, we decided to rent out the property to share our beautiful piece of land with its fynbos fauna with others. Our property is 8,5 hectares and it is unfenced and borders on the Robberg Coastal Corridor. This is a stretch of untarnished coastline that links the Robberg Nature Reserve with the Harkerville State Forest. This allows greater biodiversity and allows the local wildlife passage between the two protected areas. In fact, we love seeing on occasion some grysbok, porcupines and caracals. We also have an abundance of birdlife now as the fynbos is growing back. Guests can take a stroll from the cottage (about 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back) to the viewpoint on the edge of the ocean or book a horse ride with our neighbour.

Ex yacht stewardess, traveller and now a mommy of 2. I found that I missed the yachting industry where I worked for 5 years after I moved back home to a more "normal" life, so I find that hosting guests at our cottage allows me to interact with lots of different people. We live on the same property (about 100m away from the cottage) and we love talking about our lovely town and giving you suggestions to make your stay truly memorable.

The airport road area of Plett is a rural part of town that allows you some peace and quiet while still being close to town and all it offers. Since the paving of the airport road, it is also an easy place to stay between Plett and Knysna. We are We have a few lovely restaurants less than 3km from our cottage including the renowned Ice Dream Land Pizzeria and the gorgeous Ouland Royale (where they also do weddings). Our guests can also book a dinner or breakfast with our neighbours Tiniqua Stable Inn.
