Company information

My husband Reinhard and I have been running the Crooked Tree together for almost 20 years. We take pride in owner managed accommodation. As well trying to be there 100% of the time to welcome all our guests, we do our own breakfasts and we do most of the maintenance to the property ourselves. The cottage and Room 4 were revamped, finishing in April 2016. Rooms 5 and 6 have recently been repainted and updated. And we have just made changes to Rooms 4's bathroom. It now has a walk in shower only. In addition to being water conservative, we take great pride in being a truly owner managed and run establishment.

Property information

Crooked Tree is a lovely 6 room establishment set in the heart of the ever growing Umhlanga coastal town close to Durban CBD. Centrally located and close to the Umhlanga village as well as many newly located businesses, it is a short walk to some of the best beaches on the Kwazulu Natal coastline. Crooked tree has the added advantage of lovely sea views and the option to book on a bed only, bed and breakfast or self catering basis.

Neighbourhood information

Umhlanga was a premier holiday destination but it has blossomed into one of the hottest spots to vacation on the African continent. Rub shoulders with the rich and the not so, and gym with some of the international rugby teams when they come to compete.. Commerce and business centers abound in the area, so we are also an ideal location for business travelers. Whatever your needs we are perfectly located for all.
