Die Dorpshuis was built in the late 1800's as a prestige residence for an unknown person. Since then it was extended and became the residence and surgery for the dorp's doctors and eventually the home to a local school master. We speak your language, English, Afrikaans, French and German

Calitzdorp lies on the famous R62, 49 km's from Oudtshoorn to the east and 50 km's to Ladysmith in the west. It is surrounded by the Swartberg and Gamka Mountains and is set in the Gamka Valley Winelands. Calitzdorp is known as The Port-Wine Capital of South Africa and lies at the start (or end) of the longest wine route of the world (R62).
