Company information

It starts in 1960 when Mr Schoeman drove along the mountain path looking for a beach in Victoria Bay. He, by chance, found the land that Hilltop is built on and decided that this is the perfect location to build their family holiday home. Hilltop was transferred to his son, Hennie, in 1967. Hennie and his wife revamped Hilltop into a bed-and-breakfast, known as Hilltop Country Lodge, receiving their first guests 24 December 1998. They hosted guests from all over the world, sharing the magnificent view and creating lasting memories that guests fondly reminisce on. After 24 years of enjoying their labour of love, it is time to transition into their new life phase and hand over the custodianship of Hilltop. In April 2022, the new team at Hilltop received the role of continuing the legacy and spirit of what Hilltop embodies: Eden. We decided to create a brand that aligns with the legacy and class of Hilltop. Now known as Hilltop Boutique Hotel. Our team feels privileged to host you and our desire is that you come to refresh, recharge and realign. Take a moment to be still and reconnect to True North.

Hilltop is an elegant Boutique Hotel, idyllically situated in the seclusion of a Fynbos Nature Reserve between Victoria Bay and Wilderness, in the heart of the Garden Route. We offer safe and secure, luxury accommodation in a most beautiful and tranquil setting on 6Ha of pristine private land. Guests have a choice of double rooms, a deluxe suite and one self-catering apartment, all of which have magnificent sea and mountain views. Hilltop is within close proximity to a wide range of outdoor activities, excellent restaurants, golf courses and hiking trails.
