Set on a 60-year-old farm currently being restored after standing empty for many years, we offer three simple private guest rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The accommodation isn’t fancy, but it is clean, comfortable, and cozy. Guests are welcome to use the main house kitchen, which is equipped with tea, coffee, and self-catering facilities. Enjoy peaceful walks on the farm, and if you’re keen, you’re welcome to join The Hoffs for morning chores. Experience the calm and simplicity of off-grid living. We have ample solar power for lighting and charging mobile devices; however, items such as hairdryers and irons cannot be accommodated. Ideal for families or small groups looking for a simple, nature-filled stay.

Ryno is a 5th Scale RC car specialist who loves showing off his builds. He enjoys creating YouTube videos and spending time in the great outdoors. Jacqui is a mother of five and the owner of Health with The Hoffs. She has a heart for people and dedicates her time to the wellbeing of her family and those around her. Together, they are active members of their community and have been involved in town restoration projects in partnership with Friends of Smithfield and Lottoland Help ’n Dorp. From Garden Club and VVA to triathlons and Street Stores, they love getting involved and brightening the lives of the people they meet.

Our Farm Stay is just 10 km out of town on the Wepener dirt road—close enough for convenience, but far enough to enjoy complete peace and privacy. The road is suitable for any car, and you can comfortably drive at around 60 km/h. The farm is 1300ha with amazing scenery(Especially in Spring/Summer) and a beautiful koppie with some more stunning views. There are 3x dams, 2x Goats, 30x chickens, 3x Friendly Dogs and Buddy our pet Sheep 😃 Smithfield offers a relaxed small-town experience with a mix of history, local flavour, and everyday conveniences. Visitors can explore the historic cemetery and the Caledon Museum, which give insight into the town’s rich past. For something to eat, favourites include Kraais Pies for Sit Down or Takeaways(We Love their Milkshakes), Buckley’s Restaurant and Chips and Vetkoek from The Factory Store. The town is well equipped for day-to-day needs, with USave and Saamkom convenience stores (both with bottle stores), a PEP, Rapsons Printing Shop, and our local cooperative OVK. Combined with friendly locals and a peaceful Free State atmosphere, Smithfield makes for a comfortable stopover or a quiet country getaway.
