Hythelands House is situated on a dairy farm on the Hlatikulu Road, 10.4 km outside of Mooi River. Hythelands offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in a self-contained, 3-bedroom home where guests can enjoy peace and tranquillity, as well as lovely views of the Drakensberg mountains in the distance. The house can accommodate 8 guests and comprises 3 bedrooms. The first bedroom contains a queen bed, the second bedroom contains 2 single beds, and the third bedroom contains a double bed and a bunk bed. The house also comprises a spacious kitchen and lounge area, and features a courtyard area with outdoor seating and braai facilities. There is a cosy fireplace in both the lounge and the kitchen, ideal for those cold winter nights. Firewood is provided for the first night. Netflix and Showmax are available. The working farm is a busy commercial dairy farm, and because of this, tours and participation in farm activities can be accommodated. It is requested that all gates are to be kept closed to ensure animals are kept in their respective camps. Veld fires are a risk to the area and therefore a strict code of fire safety is adhered to. Pets are not permitted. At certain times of the year, an abundance of cranes, including blue, wattled and crowned, visit the farmlands. There are ample opportunities for walking, canoeing and cycling. The location offers access to Hartford House, Treverton College, Weston Agricultural High School, the Midlands Meander and Giants Castle.

Ashleigh is a bubbly and caring individual who moved up to the farm in 2021. She splits her time between running the guest house and working on the farm. She has thrown herself into learning how farm life works and excited and stimulated by helping the farm thrive. Ashleigh is originally from Durban as was a successful Biokineticist there. She hopes to add value to the farm by transferring her health science knowledge into helping the cattle.

Located in Mooi River, we are part of the famous Midlands Meander. The Midlands Meander has many social, shopping and activity based attractions. We are also within driving distance of Highmoor Nature Reserve as well as Giants Castle Nature Reserve.
