The cottage is surrounded by world renowned wine farms such as Vrede en Lust, Backsberg, Glen Carlou and many others. Most of the wine farms in the area have wonderful play grounds for the kids. I would specifically recommend Tokara Deli, Pappa Grappa, Anura and Noble Hill for an awesome experience for adults and kiddies. There's also a lion park, a giraffe park and crocodile farm in the area for the kids. The cottage itself also has a garden and ample space for kiddies to play. There are cafe's within a km from the cottage where you can get the basics. The Paarl mall is about 7km from the cottage (we're in the farm area). Franschhoek is only 15km away and has a massive array of restaurants including Foliage which was num 10 in the EatOut top 10 awards in 2016! Kimi's Cottage is where you come to experience natural beauty and stunning wine farms. Safety - yes, you're safe. The property is secured by electric fence and our big furbaby that looks after us. We have lived in the valley for over 30 years and the community thus love and respect us and us them. We've never had an incident and never feel unsafe, so much so that we sleep with unlocked doors and car keys in vehicles (even tough we don's suggest this, it's just habit for us).
