An open-plan kitchen and living area flows onto a deck with a gas braai (BBQ) overlooking a tributary of the Timbavati river. Wandering around the farm you may bump into giraffe, zebra and other wildlife. There are extensive vegetable gardens and a fruit orchard providing a wide variety of organic produce. There are also ducks, geese, turkeys, laying hens, bantams and other poultry.

My wife Belinda and I both work locally as medical doctors. Since our children are older and no longer permanently living at home, we are enjoying sharing our piece of paradise with visitors. Should you need anything during your stay you can just wander across the garden to our family home.

The cottage is on a secure private wildlife estate of more than 700 acres. One can safely go for walks or runs on the property. If you need anything, the McIntosh family live permanently across the garden. If you have any questions about what to do in the area or need any ingredients for a recipe, you need only stroll across and ask. The extensive organic vegetable gardens and citrus and tropical fruit orchards are also just outside your cottage. Just a 30 minute drive from Hoedspruit's diverse restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets. A quick 15 minute drive to the Kruger National Park Orpen Gate. Tintswalo Hospital in Acornhoek is less than 10 minutes drive and there are a number of supermarkets, pharmacies and fuel stations in Acornhoek too.
