In a previous life I was a banker in Belgium, but during my travels I became more and more aware that I wanted to live a life I didn’t have to escape or dream anymore. I wanted to be in touch with people and not with targets. I realised I was after more life quality and wanted to share my experiences with travellers and assist people in experiencing this wonderful part of the world. During one of my trips to South Africa I accidentally ended up in Hout Bay, as if it was meant to be. It was love at first sight! The town has a vibrant and small community with excellent restaurants, a lovely food market, a stunning beach, and the pulsating Mother City is just a stone’s throw away. Here you experience the best of the outdoors whilst all the facilities and activities are just around the corner. I took the plunge and decided to go for a real life changer. I very much want to offer my guests the same experience I first had and still have. MooiBaai Cottages is located in what was once a farm, in authentic Cape Dutch style with individual cottages. Our direct backyard neighbour is World of Birds, so when you relax on your private terrace with a book and a glass of wine, enjoy the birds flying by midst magnificent mountain vistas. Sleep and rest in one of the hyper comfortable rooms.

Hout Bay is a perfect starting point for many attractions and activities in the area, for exploring the Mother City (as Cape Town is called) situated just behind the corner, going to Cape Point via the iconic Chapman’s Peak Drive, wine tasting in Constantia or enjoying one of many pristine sandy beaches along the coastline. Due to its central location, Hout Bay is often considered as "The Heart of the Cape".
