Eersterivierstrand is a private beach resort located in the heart of the Tsitsikamma, part of the beautiful and famous Garden Route. It is 95km east of Plettenberg Bay and 78km west of Jeffreys Bay. The nearest town Kareedouw is 18km away. People who visit the beach for the first time are usually astounded by the breathtaking beauty of the pristine coastline and environment. When my grandfather 50 years ago saw the site he said, "this is where he wants to build his beach house" therefore the name of the house “Net Hier” which directly translated means "Just Here". This magical area of the Eastern Cape is often described as a wonderland because of its beauty, where visitors are spellbound by the dramatic Eastern Cape coastal scenery - rolling seas with massive, wild breakers pounding the shore; magnificent rivers winding their way from the Eastern Cape plateau down to the Indian Ocean; lofty mountains; sheer cliffs, and forests covered with a carpet of delicate fynbos. The Storms River / Tsitsikamma Eastern Cape region is known worldwide as a photographers', hikers' and water sports paradise, with lots of adventurers on offer - hike the rugged Eastern Cape coastline, bungee jump off the world's highest bungee jump, zipline across the Kruis River, abseil Tsitsikamma waterfalls, dive among sharks, and much much more. There is a great deal for the adventurous who want to do something other than just swimming, fishing, snorkeling, and lying in the sun. The Fynbos Golf Club is 3km away and boasts a 9-hole golf course, indoor pool, spa and tennis courts. The famous surfing spots of Jeffreys Bay is close by, horse and zegway rides, tree top canopy tour and blackwater tubing.
