Porterfield Estate is located in Cathkin Park, the heart of the Central Drakensberg and within the safety of Champagne Sports Resort. Our rental property is a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with a mezzanine room consisting of 2 beds. It is spacious with a lovely fenced-in garden and exquisite views of the mountains. There is a great braai facility, and our friendly staff are on hand to assist you with any housekeeping needs. The house overlooks the 2nd and 3rd holes of the Champagne Sports golf course. Golf is available but ALL bookings must be done through the Clubhouse which we can assist with if necessary. The course is a must for all golf enthusiasts - ranking 29th in the country. The spectacular scenery and bent-grass greens are guaranteed not to disappoint. There is a 4km trail that runs through the property, great for running or just enjoying a stroll. We are also on the doorstep of the renowned Cathkin Trails - boasting over 200km of trail-running and cycling options. Registration can be organized for all runners and cyclists. Porterfield is home to several antelope - from duiker and bushbuck to more commom Impala and Blesbok. Bird-life is plentiful, but the Ground Hornbill usually signifies inclement weather approaching. You will also see eight horses roaming around - rides can be organised upon request. This rental is sure to create the holiday memories that will last a lifetime and have you longing to return...

Pippa and Jeremy have lived in the area together for more than 20 years. They have 3 children, Connor (15), Oliver (14) and Madison (10). When they are back from boarding school they are sure to keep your children entertained. The parents enjoy the outdoors, having hiked extensively in the Berg, ridden and run the local trails, fished in local dams and rivers, enjoyed countless rounds of golf and truly love their local surroundings.

We are situated in close proximity to the World Heritage Site which allows for easy access to beautiful mountain hikes. Within 5km of us you will find Falcon Ridge, Canopy Tours, The Drakensberg Brewery, Valley Bakery, the Drakensberg Boys Choir School, Four Rivers Rafting, Hot Air Ballooning, and many more adventures. There certainly is something for everyone and we are happy to assist in any way to make your stay an enjoyable one.
