Wikipedia - Melkbosstrand (Afrikaans for "Milkbush beach") is a coastal town located on the South West Coast of South Africa, 30 km north of Cape Town. It forms part of the City of Cape Town. The stunning Blue Flag Melkbos Beach is the first beach that you will encounter as you travel along the West Coast. This beautiful stretch of sand-dunes offers stunning views of Table Mountain & Robben Island. It has a bay perfect for swimming, stand up paddle boarding & kayaking & 1km further has a popular water sports area excellent for surfing, kite & wind surfing. Most visitors find Melkbos is a great base for day trips & adventures into Cape Town, (Table Mountain Cable Car), V&A Waterfront, nearby winelands, road trip up the West Coast to the Langebaan Lagoon & Nature Reserve for the best Sea Food in the Cape. Horse Riding, MX at Zone 7 & 4x4 at the Atlantis Sand Dunes, or a 1 min drive to the Atlantic Beach Golf Estate. Located 1 house away from the beach & 1 road away from the surf hire store, outdoor dining & chic cafes 200 meters from the beachfront. 400m from the main bus terminal. Daily invigorating Sunrise and Sunset walks along the beach are highly recommended.
