Since our first visit at the cottages, Thys and I fell in love with the Eastern Free State Highlands. The fresh air, clear seasonal changes and sweet water makes for a paradise to live in or visit. We were fortunate enough to buy this property from Anton and Sharon in September 2022 and our aim is to keep sharing this beautiful place with people who appreciate nature and who needs to revive their souls in tranquil surroundings.

Schoonzicht is the farm where Springwater Cottages is situated. We fell in love with this farm when our feet hit the ground and when we experienced the sunset on our first visit here. The place has that unique quality of feeling like you belong. There is an atmosphere of peace here that invites you to want to stay. The beautiful, surrounding sandstone ridges around the property makes for eye pleasing scenery and our water comes from a spring 100m up in the mountain and the catchment area has never even seen any fertilizers or pesticides, as it is extremely rugged. I guess that is what makes the water so sweet - it is an experience to taste what water should taste like. We are serious farmers and love the raw challenges that goes along with it! A farm is always a work in progress, and it is our passion. You are most welcome to share our piece of heaven here in the Free State.
